Gwalior city is located in north Madhya
Pradesh and was named after Gwalipa, a legendary saint
of the 8th century. Its most famous and memorable
landmark is un-doubted the majestic fort built atop a
sheer rock by Raja Mansingh Tomar. At present, this fort
houses the famous Scindia School, an imposing white
Gurdwara and the well-kept palace ruins. The statue of
the Rani of Jhansi, m
arking the spot
where she died in the war of independence of 1857
against the British, the tombs of the famous musician
Tansen, one of the court jewels of Akbar and the huge
Jai Vilas Palace, home to the royal family of Gwalior,
the Scindias, are some of Gwalior's other famous
historical landmarks. Now, Gwalior has developed a lot
in various fields of activities like Development of
Academic & Technical Education, Development of
infrastructure and industrialisation, improving the
standard of living etc. It is a bustling city with a
population of over 700,000 people. Its central location
317 Kms. south of the national capital Delhi, 110 Kms.
from Agra, and 400 Kms. north the State capital, Bhopal
ensures that it is linked well - by air with Delhi,
Bhopal, Indore and Mumbai, and by train and road through
the national networks with all the major cities in the
Country. Indeed the first Shatabdi Express, the fastest
train in India completed its historical inaugural
journey from Delhi to Gwalior almost ten years ago. This
train continues to provide a comfortable journey from
Gwalior to Delhi and Agra in the north and Jhansi and
Bhopal in the south. Most of the Delhi based
Industrailists are coming morning by this train from
Delhi and doing their respective works like - inspection
of Project, attending Meetings or Seminars and any other
consultancy works and returning by this train at
